Vijay Chopra
Dr. Vijay Chopra graduated from the Christian Medical College, Vellore, in 1972 and did his post graduate training in Medicine and Cardiology from the Post Graduate Institute of Medical Education and Research, Chandigarh, in 1979. He then served as a Consultant Cardiologist at Sir Ganga Ram Hospital, Associate Director of Cardiology at Escorts Heart Institute and Research Centre, and Director, Heart Failure Programme, at Medanta. He is now Director, Heart Failure and Clinical Research, at Max Superspeciality Hospital, Saket, New Delhi
He is a Fellow of the Cardiological Society of India, European Society of Cardiology and the Heart Failure Association of the European Society of Cardiology. He was the Founder President of the Heart Failure Association of India and is now on its Board of Governors. He serves on the Editorial Boards of the ESC Heart Failure Journal and the Cardiac Failure Review. He is also the Regional Consulting Editor of the European Journal of Heart Failure.
He is actively involved in clinical trials and has been the National Lead Investigator in several large multinational trials including ROCKET-AF, Red-HF, ELIXA, ODYSSEY EAST, FOURIER, PARAGON, DAPA-HF, EMPEROR-Reduced, EMPEROR-Preserved, SCORED, PARADISE, FINE-ARTS, EMPACT-MI and STEP-HF among others.
He has authored 97 publications in National and International Journals.
